KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Doing right things at right time in the right way, produces the right, results, we aspire.

Times have gone, when power of sword ruled the world. Even during that period, the power of sword alone never ruled, but the knowledge about enemy, knowledge about own strength and knowledge of the right time for attack always had played a crucial role in grabbing the power.

In other words, knowing what to do at what time—in what direction and how, are the various parameters that lead to sure success. Knowing our timings well, knowing our goals well, knowing our strengths and weaknesses well and shaping them, in right direction, we can achieve what we aspire to achieve. Knowledge gives power to mobilize the things in right direction and so it is said that knowledge is power.

If we venture to establish any business or wish to achieve any goal, we must acquire full knowledge of all the things including our limitations and weaknesses. Knowledge gives us capacity and capabilities to know the result of our actions, probability of success and failure, propriety of our venture and so knowledge is said to be power.

For a country, knowledge about its friends and foes, and knowledge about the capabilities of its enemies is very important. In the present world scenario, many satellites and spy aircrafts are deployed for the purpose of gaining maximum knowledge of activities going on in other countries. A country having the maximum and accurate knowledge of other countries can use them for its advantage, and thus it is the ‘Knowledge’ that rules the world.

Knowledge means knowing the things in an appropriate and better way. A man of knowledge can understand the circumstances more wisely, and so can decide the things favourably. Knowledge inspires confidence, and courage, to act at a right time. A man of knowledge possesses immense influence in society. He has the capacity to lead the society, mould the society in a positive direction, and keep away the society from the many social evils. A man of knowledge can turn the sleeping people into a thundering force.

Whatever inventions and discoveries are seen today, from a nut to the jet plane are the results of proper use of knowledge. Human, being is the only creature that can use his brain wisely, rationally, selectively, and can do wonders. It is the magic of knowledge that man walked on the Moon, and man has been exploring the secretes of solar planets, like Mars, Jupiter, Saturn etc. Many incurable diseases in the past are no more incurable today. The progress made by the man in the field of surgery, -medicine, meteorology, bio-technology and all fields of science and technology are because of the power of knowledge

The advancement in genetic engineering has made man, in a way, equivalent to God. The cloning of sheep has been done successfully with the sheer power of knowledge.

No doubt, knowledge is an immense power, yet we can say that without perseverance, dedication, devotion to the cause, knowledge alone can’t do that. Knowledge can be acquired through reading and listening, making regular practice through experiments. All that requires devotion and dedication of high order.

Taking right steps in right direction at the right time is possible with right knowledge of every small and big thing. Knowing what to do, when to do, how to do, is the key of success. Use your knowledge in the prevailing circumstance and decide the things. One has total power over one’s attitude, outlook and aptitude. If we think positive and act decisively, we can turn the tables to our advantage.

Every super brain, every super personality has used his wisdom, and knowledge with perseverance, dedication and hard work to achieve success. The power enjoyed by a person comes from the knowledge he acquired and by using that knowledge in right direction.

The inventions and discoveries of present day may look simple to a common man as he can’t judge the use of knowledge and hard work behind every invention and discovery. The present revolution in communication, information technology, has changed the lives of everybody. Computer is being used in all walks of life. Use of internet has shrunk the world into a small room. All these inventions are the result of effective use of knowledge with hard work and devotion. Curiosity is the mother of knowledge. Unless you have intentions or craving to know a thing you can’t gain any new knowledge. All the advancement in science and technology has been possible on account of the spirit of inquiry of human beings.

The mysteries and secrets of space have baffled and intrigued the scientists since time immemorial. It was the incessant quest to know more, the invention of telescope, spacecrafts, etc, that took place and see the gradual acquiring of knowledge has made it possible for man to explore the planets like Mars, Saturn etc.

Today, the USA is the only super power in the world. It is because of the knowledge it acquired and used that knowledge for advancement. Knowledge undisputedly gives power and strength, but knowledge alone can’t make one mighty. Knowledge and using the knowledge in right direction with untiring spirit and full devotion, makes a man really powerful.

Knowledge can be acquired and enhanced through reading. Reading is the key to gain more knowledge. Napoleon once remarked, “Show me a family of readers and I will show you the people who move the world.” All learned, successful and powerful men have been great readers. Again through our readings, we can get to know the lives of great and successful men, the problems they faced and the means they adopted to overcome them. Often their autobiographies and biographies give us a clue to solving our problems.

In times of adversity, danger, misfortune, a man of knowledge proves to be a man of resources. He can overcome the problems with his knowledge. No knowledge is better than the knowledge of self. Knowing oneself means, mastering one’s passions and controlling one’s traits and faculties. Thus, knowledge gives one immense power, and so it is rightly said, ‘Knowledge is Power.’
