CO-OPERATIVE FARMING India is an agricultural country. People live in villages and depend on agriculture. The condition of Indian agriculture is not satisfactory, There has been much change in agriculture since 1947. Our government and people did their best to improve the condition of agriculture. Much has been done. Yet much needs to be done. Our country needs more production for the implementation of five year plans. So co-operative farming is the need of the hour. It is an important step towards building up an agricultural economy. In co-operative farming, farmers join together and form a society. This society implements the plans with a united effort. The produce and income is divided among the share holders according to their shares.  Here the farmers have ownership on the plot of land and the work is done on a joint basis. In collective farming, the ownership vests with the government. The farmers are simply wage earners. So collective farming is not suited in a democratic set up. Co-operative farming is based on co-operation. It is based on the principle that union is strength. It teaches us to make a united effort.
