Sometimes they may prove to be curse when they cause floods. This year the summer season was unduly long and extremely hot. It was June and the schools were reopened. The scorching sun and the stifling heat had made our life unbearable. When the clouds appear on the sky, everybody become happy. When the south-west monsoon sets in, we get fairly heavy rains every day. But it seldom keeps raining round the clock. I remember a day in the last June when it rained for the whole day. When I woke up at six in the morning, there was no sunlight outside. The sky was overcast with dark and thick clouds. After some time a cool breeze began to blow. It seemed that rain was imminent. Then suddenly it started raining heavily. I came out of my room and stood on the verandha and watched the rain. Soon it started raining in torrents. I looked at our garden. There was water all round the house. No patch of grass could be seen. I knew that the school would not work...

Persuasive Essay Topics on My unforgettable Train Journey A journey by train is an interesting and educative experience. During the last summer vacation, I had the opportunity to travel from Dehra Dun to Lucknow with my friends. We reached the Dehra Dun station in time to catch the 1.50pm Train. Our train stood ready. Our seats were reserved and so we boarded the train leisurely and found our seats. There was a great rush at the station. After a few minutes, the grand blew his whistle and waved his green flag. Soon the train moved out of the station and our journey began. When the train crossed the signal point it began to catch speed. After five minute the train was passing through fields and gardens. The countryside of the Dehra Dun Valley through which we were passing was pretty, and so we enjoyed ourselves by looking through the windows. We saw green filed, trees, groves and forests from the running train. We also saw farmers ploughing the fields. We saw to our left the lower Himalayan hills and to the right the Siwalik range. We passed through green fields and then through beautiful forests. Everything looked bright and pleasant in the afternoon sunshine. Beauty and variety mixed in...

Essay Writing on ‘A HOUSE ON FIRE’ It was a hot day in summer. I was having a nap after my lunch. A sudden noise awoke me. I heard people shouting ‘fire’. I looked out through the window and saw clouds of smoke rising from a house only a few yards away from my house. I was horrified and stood still. Soon I came back to my sense. I rang up the Fire Brigade and came out of my house. I rushed towards the burning house. A large number of people had gathered there. The flames were rising high. Thick curls of smoke were rising into the sky. The heat was so unbearable that nobody could go near the house. Some people were pouring buckets of water on the flames while others were throwing sand and dust. It was a double – storeyed building. Some of the inmates in the house were caught up in the first floor and were surrounded by flames. They were crying for help. Persuasive Speech topics on AN UNFORGETTABLE INCIDENT IN MY LIFE

Jose John August 3, 2013 1 Comment
AN UNFORGETTABLE INCIDENT IN MY LIFE (or) THE HAPPIEST DAY IN MY LIFE Childhood is a very impressionable period in one’s life. One incident of my childhood is indelibly imprinted in my mind. From the time I was in standard V, my father was very particular that I should not only study my lessons but also participate in extra-curricular activities. According to his wishes, I participated in various activities at school. However, I could not do anything on my own. I did not dare to get on a stage alone to make a speech or sing, even when I knew that I had a moderate ability in these activities. My fear was that everyone would make fun of me and that I would not be good enough. One day I came across the line “The valiant never tastes death but once” and thought what a coward I was. I decided that, whatever might happen, I should participate in the next elocution competition in my school and put an end to my father’s unvoiced disappointment and to my cowardice. So, after much preparation, still with my knees knocking against each other, I participated in my first individual programme- the elocution competition connection with the school youth festival. To my surprise,...

Jose John August 2, 2013 No Comments

A person may earn his living as a labourer, trader or as a producer. But when a person produces or trades in a way which is socially harmful, that activity is wrong and illegal. Thus, an activity which is not supported by laws of the country or the society, and which is harmful to the economic and social interests of the nation, can be termed as an antisocial or antinational. Such activities destroy the very structure of the country’s social structure. When life become more and more complex, and society tends to urbanisation, more people are tempted to become rich quickly by resorting to evil practices.
