A BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE
Rajasthan is one of the states in India noted for marbles and deserts. At the border of Rajasthan, Akbar has built a fort. The place is called Fatehpur Sikri. Standing at the back of the fort, we could see moulds of sand stretching for miles together no trees, no vegetations, no green fields, no trace of water a picture in contrast to the verdurous landscape in Kerala. The area will remind us of Sahara. With binoculars, we could see a few cluster of small huts scattered over the wide expanse of red sands which have rendered the area barren. I could see a small caravan of camels in the distance moving slowly towards the town below the fort. In the distance could be seen the remains of small fortress. The landscape was not green. There was a gloom around it.
