The all-round progress of a nation depends solely upon its educated people. Education is a must for individual growth. It provides us the knowledge about the surroundings. An educated man can differentiate between the facts from fiction. Nobody can exploit or befool him. He rises above superstitions. Our rural areas are mentally backward because of lack of education. An educated person become broad minded and places national priorities above his personal benefits. Only an educated person can analyse things properly and take solid decision. Educated masses can alone strengthen our democracy and accelerate our progress. Our government has launched the programme of educating the masses. Its objective is to eradicate illiteracy from the country. Our constitution provides for free and compulsory education up to the age of 14 years. Special emphasis is also given for the education of the girl child. We all aspire for a utopian society, which can be attained only when every member of the society is learned. It is only through literacy drive and ‘Education for all’ that we can make a society learned, prosperous and, in short, a utopian of our dream.
