SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE
We often see persons failing though he is intelligent and has abilities. We also sometimes see person of average abilities succeed. The difference lies in the different ways in which the two persons set about their work. The failure of the intelligent and able man is due to his want of steadiness and perseverance. Perhaps he does not exert himself as much as required. Or perhaps he takes up too much work at the same time, dividing his time and energy among several pursuits. The result is that he cannot do any work well. The successful man of average merit on the other hand takes up only one thing at a time and pursues it steadily with keen and undivided attention. It is this steadiness with undivided attention that brings him success. The well known story of the Hare and the Tortoise should teach us the necessary lesson.
