English Proverbs -PROCASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME

Proverb Expansion

PROCASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME

Procastination means postponement of action.  It is natural for us to put of some item of work.  We do not then realize that we are wasting our time.  Time is very precious.  It won’t wait for us.  It must not be wasted.  Nor must it be allowed to go waste.  So it is said that procrastination is the thief of time.  If we do an activity at the apt time, we will get benefit out of it.  If we postpone that work to a later date, we will not get the desired result.  We must do our work as it becomes necessary.  Every person should be aware of this fact.  Children have a tendency to put off their work.  They usually do not study anything till the eve of the examinations.  At last when the examinations come, they have a lot to study, but no time to do it.  Procastination has another ill-effect also.  When there is not enough time left to do a piece of work, we usually hurry to finish it.  When we do work in a hurry, we make mistakes.  So, never put off till tomorrow what may be done today.  There is no time like the present.
