THE CITY I LIVE IN
I live in Delhi, the capital of India. It is situated on the banks of the Yamuna River. It is the third largest city in India. It is a beautiful city. The name Delhi covers old Delhi and New Delhi. An architect named Edward Lutyens planned New Delhi. As it is the capital of india, all the main offices of the government of india are located in New Delhi. The president of India lives in the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The famous Mughal Gardens are in Rashtrapati Bhawan. There are embassies, great and beautiful buildings, gardens, lawns, parks, historical monuments and other places of interest in Delhi. Tourists from all over the world visit Delhi. Some of the important monuments in Delhi are Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, Birla Mandir, Loutstemple, India Gate, Raj Ghat etc. There are many beautiful gardens like Lodhi Garden, Rose Garden, and Nehru Park etc. There is a big zoo and several museums. People from all over India live here. In fact, it is a ‘mini-India’. All the important Indian festivals are celebrated here. I feel proud to be living in Delhi, the Capital City.
