TRAVELLING AS A MEANS OF LEARNING
Travelling is a common feature in India. The reasons of travelling are many – personal reasons, sightseeing, pilgrimage, educational tours, training excursion etc.
Traveling is common to meet friends and members of the family. On happy as well as on sad occasion people undertake journey. Social and religious functions are also connected with travels and journeys.
Now the joint family system is broken and employment problem is acute. Both are the reasons for people living in distance places from the original homes. Only through frequent journey connection, this can be maintained.
While travelling, we meet difference types of people with different outlook and aptitude. People of different castes, creeds and religious also come across in long journeys. At times, the language is also different.
In journey, people mix with each other avoiding socio-religion and socio-economic status. Thus, it is a conducive factor for national unity and integration. For peace and unity of the country national integration is a must. Journeys and travels help in achieving this. Government is providing all types of facilities to develop all types of transport and touring facilities. Tourism provides a strong base to unity and to earn foreign exchange.
